Mapping

Mapping has to be done. Inside the fence this requires wearing safety jacket and helmet. Being as warm as it is, wearing an extra layer wouldn't be my favorite choice. Luckily, outside the fence, there is no need for such trouble. Working close to a river, we had to cross the odd swamp and jump across rivulets. Pretty entertaining! :) The locals started setting fire to the grass in some places. We don't really bother and just keep mapping. The grass burns quite slow and makes a lot of noise doing so. Hence, it is less dangerous than I imagined it to be. The trees don't bother, either. So, it is only the grass which is disappearing in places and the trees have remained green, so far. In the wetter areas, there are lots of trees and huge termite mounds whereas on the laterite plateaus, grass is the only cover and termite mounds look like small mushrooms with a neat hat.
