Having arrived in Istanbul, we immediately hit the road to grab some real Turkish dürüm kebab (which indeed does look and taste somewhat different from what one can find around here).

The next day was spent sightseeing: Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Palace, Bazar, fish market. Every once in a while, we stopped for a tea along the way.

The second day, we took the boat across to Asia! :) There we spent some time walking around and visiting a historical neighborhood with old wooden houses (and we had a tea ;)) Once back in Europe, we went to a hamam to relax for a bit. Thereafter, we spent hours at a meyhane eating bits and pieces, drinking raki, listening to old-school Ottoman music, chatting...

On our last day, we simply walked the streets around Taksim for a bit, bought some souvenirs and/or food. My brother went to the barber's whereas I caught up with a friend. Good times.
