Entirely dominated by the river Doubs last week-end's spontaneous cycling trip proved to be a very welcome change from daily life. And what impressive sceneries! Navigating by country scale maps, I discovered some beautiful Jurassic ridges in France, was left speechless cycling through the breathtaking Vallée de la Loue, following the (small and bigger) river Doubs uphill at various stages… Beautiful moments in mostly quite deserted rural France. It all ended with a pleasant ride back to Switzerland on a deserted back road through a lovely valley with nice limestone cliffs as the rain started pouring - what a welcome change from the scorching heat all day!

Amazing what one can do during just one very short week-end! Suddenly, I've realized that in nearby France there is lot of these promising roads with a green line (= scenic drive). Maybe some of them need exploring… Until next time!
