Climbing on Brač

Finally! One week of holiday was to be spent! The first week off after Easter break and feeling totally relaxed after finishing the MSc and everything. We spontaneously decided to go climbing in Croatia. Transfer was done by bus, which means a long 20 hour ride to go from Zurich to Split. In Split, we took the ferry to Brač the next day. On the island of Brač, there is some easy climbing spots around the village of Lozisca. Unfortunately, there is no accommodation whatsoever to be found in that village. Luckily, we found an apartment to rent for three nights in the cute small harbor of Bobovisca. We spent the days sleeping, hiking, trying to find the climbing spots, climbing, eating, swimming in the sea, reading, taking in the sun...

After spending days in the rural quiet part of Brač, we decided to pay the town of Bol a visit. In Bol, we went to the beach Zlatni Rat (which is this really cool natural spit with the most amazingly colored water), strolled thru town, had great dinner. On our last day on Brač, we hiked up and Vidova Gora, which is the highest peak (778 masl) of the Adriatic islands. Nice walk, splendid view over Zlatni Rat, Bol, neighboring islands!
