The food of all the five of us on one table... The next morning we caught the train to Brig. Having arrived in Brig we started tramping. A little to the west and then mainly only uphill towards Termen etc. Later on - on our last piece of a normal road - we passed a marking on which could be read: zum Südpazifik 2 Min. (to the Southern Pacific 2 minutes).
We thought that would be funny to check thus we left our backpacks and strolled a little. Somehow we were able to miss the art work... (more on it you're able to find on the following website: www.downunder.arts.ch) Instead we, or rather Semjon discovered an opportunity to make an automatic released group picture. He hung the camera on a branch and pushed the button. As a matter of fact - and certainly veeery surprising - the camera started moving...;) Nevertheless the shot turned out quite nice.

And off we went again after that short break - off again and uphill again. Uphill - we ended up doing two peaks! Keeping in mind that we had started our tramp in Brig sums it all up to about or even a little more than 2000 meters on the first day! And I haven't mentioned the weight of the backpacks yet. Anyway...s, we made it to the two peaks. Most unfortunately the weather and the view were terrible! (as you can see on the following photo)
That's that peak of 2700 meters altitude or so. Although it was awfully cold and we were tired and hungry we did not miss the chance to write in the summit book up there (including our age, the weight of the backpacks...) Writing was kind of though - especially for Semjon because his fingers were more stiff and cold than cosy warm...
After all that excitment we tramped on to a lake where there was no lake. Well, there was one but there was no water. Luckily there was a small cute snow field right next to our camp side. Thus, Päsu, Mättu and Semjon put a the Placha-tent while Michi and I started cooking with the snow. Btw, the camp side we chose was five minutes before the top of the Saflischpass on about 2500 m asl.

The next morning we got up and the weather was till very interesting...

After some breakfast we tramped on.
And what a suprise it even came to happen that we were able to see further than 10 meters and we passed the Blausee...;) What exactly wanted we do there, Päscu?...;)
Hiking downhill for once was quite an alternation we kind of welcomed and the valley was really nice as well.
For lunch we put up one 'Plache' because it kind of started raining - not really but anyway.
Since planning seems to be a very important part of tramping we went for it again after lunch.
Later on we hiked to Binn where I decided to go home and took the bus to Flisch and then the train to Brig, Bern, Zurich, Buchs.

For me it certainly was a great weekend even though the weather could have been nicer. For all I've heard from Michi the rest of the tramp was an impressive adventure. All I can tell is that the pictures they shot during the remaining days of tramping in Switzerland and Itlay are absolutely awesome!!!
This photo is one of my favourite ones they took during their tramping without me. And that's already it about that fantastic Börn-Expedition'06...
Hopefully there's gonna be a post about my experiences in the Circus Monti kind of soonish...
Aye, jolly good adventure it seems, I'd love to see those other pictures! Good to know that there are more nutters doing tramps out there ... ;-)
